Amara has always hated having an unknown destiny. She hates having superpowers that isolate her even more. Hiding away at the family manor is the best solution Amara and her fellow freak cousin, Effy, can come up with. However, when their fathers drag them out of hiding and decide their place among the League will be a special integration team on Nullum Island where all the villains are sent. Their superpowers make them perfect for the job as Effy is a telepath while Amara has the ability to suppress other Bio Meta's superpowers and she's immune to other Bio Meta superpowers. It's a job neither of them are thrilled about.
Heading back to Oswald City presents more challenges than either Amara or Effy could expect. They both are stuck facing their destined mates while being slapped with a prophecy that will change their world forever. Hiding away is no longer an option as they both find themselves fighting a secret war alongside their destined mates in an attempt to save their home and way of life.
Aren has his own dark secrets. Living a double life is not easy and no one can discover his true past. He certainly can't let Amara distract him from his true mission even if he's not sure what that mission is anymore. Meanwhile, Caden knows exactly what his mission is and that's to claim his destined mate. Being thrust into a secret war was never a part of the mission.
When everything is at stake can the secret squad handle the mission to fight a secret war with a secret society that not even the League is aware of? Can they prevent the dark future the Soothsayer has predicted, or are they to fail and watch their world crumble?
